This is the first movie based on those books. Curious George is a monkey. The Man in the Yellow Hat (Will Ferrell) meets George while he is in Africa looking for a giant, ancient statue. He is trying to save the museum where he works by bringing home a famous artifact. George takes a liking to the Man and follows him back to New York. This is when George starts getting into all kinds of trouble. His curiosity always gets the better of him. He wants to explore everything in this strange new city. The Man is not allowed to have pets in his apartment and George gets him evicted. The Man wants to get rid of George because of all the trouble he causes. He paints all over the neighbor's apartment with his hands and wrecks a dinosaur exhibit at the museum. George does not talk but his face and some songs do the talking for him. The music is by Jack Jackson and is suitable for young and old ears. Will Ferrell does an excellent job as the gentle voice of the Man. This is a charming, lovely movie truly made for a young audience. If your child is old enough to sit in the theatre for 75 minutes, take him or her. If your slightly older children loved George as tots, try to take them with. Why is Junior jealous of the Man? Why doesn't the Man want to tell the museum owner about the size of his statue? Has being curious ever gotten you into trouble? Email Linda Back to Home Copyright © 2006 Linda Thomas |
