Rating: PG Overall rating: 3 1/2 out of 5 stars Best for Ages: 8+ Ages 3 - 7: Red Ages 8 - 12: Green Ages 13 - 17: Green Violence Amount: Yellow Violence Portrayal: Yellow Fear: Yellow Illegal / Harmful: Green Language: Yellow Nudity: Yellow Sex: Yellow Review: Reed (Ioan Grufudd) and Sue (Jessica
Alba) are trying to get married for the third time. Suddenly, the
Silver Surfer appears and threatens the planet. He is very cool and all
silver, including his surfboard. Reed, Sue, Johnny (Chris Evans) and
Ben (Michael Chiklis) must leave the wedding unfinished, again. The
four work as a team but none of them is perfect. Johnny is interested
in endorsements, Ben is in love, Reed is still a scientific geek and
Sue just wants to get married and live a normal life. The movie is
nonstop action from beginning to end. There are tons of great special
effects to keep the interest of younger children. There is some action
violence and one person does get incinerated. There is some sexual
innuendo but it is made clear that a committed relationship is the
best. There is a strong female character that is handicapped and living
a full life. There is some mild language (crap, screwed up). I would
recommend this movie to children 8 and older. Which superpower would
you most like to have and why? Why do superheroes sometimes want to
live a “normal life”?
