McConaughey) is a successful, handsome, 35 year old man that still
lives at home with his parents (Kathy Bates and Terry Bradshaw).
Whenever a girl gets that "relationship" look in her eyes, Trip takes
them home to his parents. Once the girl finds out about his living
situation, they take off. Trip’s parents love him but they would like a
little privacy. They hire Paula (Sarah Jessica Parker) to make him fall
for her and move out. Her strategy is meet him, like what he likes,
help her through an emotional experience, make his friends like her and
give him the confidence to move out. The plan works until Trip finds
out about it. This is an entertaining romantic comedy. The characters
are likeable and the actors do a good job of portraying them. Many
funny situations occur along the way. There is partial nudity (a tush);
Trip and Paula have sex at his parent’s house, and some sexual
language. There is also some drinking on a regular basis. Why does Trip
have so much trouble with relationships? Is it difficult to achieve
independence from your parents? Is it difficult for parents to let go
of their children?
