Review:
From the creaters of the The Grudge, comes a movie with a young boy of 8 traumatized by the "Boogeyman" taking his father. We don't know if the father was really taken or just left his family. The boy's life is shaped by this one act. We move ahead 15 years. Tim is living a somewhat normal life. He has a girlfriend and he is going to meet her parents over the Thanksgiving weekend. After dinner, he gets news about his mother and goes back to the old house where he lived. The boogeyman seems to be after him again. Strange things begin to happen to Tim that will have you jumping in your seat. He meets up with an old friend that knew him as a child. He meets a young girl who is also afraid of the boogeyman and his girlfriend comes to visit. There are several sequences of intense horror and terror. There is violence that we don't really understand. There is also some partial nudity. There are deaths that are not explained to my satisfaction. We never get an explanation of how or why anything happened. There are many blank spots in the plot, but it is a scary movie. I jumped in my seat several times. It is scary without showing too much blood and body parts. The ending was really weak. This is not a good movie for children that scare easily or have nightmares. What have you taught your child about the Boogeyman?
