10 Best and Worst Movies of 2005

Best Movies
1. Crash Multiple stories of socio-economic and racial prejudice.

2. Walk the Line Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon turn in Oscar worthy performances as Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.

3. Brokeback Mountain
Two cowboys fall in love when they spend a summer alone on a mountain.

4. Hustle’n Flow
Terrence Howard is the star and he was also in “Crash”. Anyone can dream.

5. Good Night and Good Luck
This is a documentary like movie with David Straithairn as Walter Cronkite.

6. King Kong
This re-make of King Kong was exceptional for the serious story at the beginning to the monsters in the jungle to the city of New York.

7. Munich Eric Bana does an excellent job playing an assassin for the Israelis after the killings at the Olympics.

8. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
I love these books and the entire fantasy on film.

9. Wallace & Gromit: the Case of the Were Rabbit This series has won several awards for their short movies. This is their first feature film.

10. Batman Returns Christian Bale is the best Batman since Michael Keaton in the original movie.

Worst Movies
(Or most disappointing)
1. Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo I can’t believe they made a sequel to the original “Deuce Bigalow”.

2. Dukes of Hazzard A real disappointment to fans of the TV show.

3. Domino Keira Knightley was poorly cast as an assassin.

4. Son of the Mask This should have gone straight to video. Jamie Kennedy plays the son of the mask.

5. Doom
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has done better movies. There are no redeeming features or characters in this movie.

6. Honeymooners Cedric the Entertainer is funny but not in this movie. Another disappointment to fans of the TV show.

7. Alone in the Dark Tara Reid as a brilliant anthropologist. Need I say more?

8. Stealth Jamie Foxx followed up “Ray” with this movie. I can’t understand that.

9. House of Wax Paris Hilton is not an actress. In fact, she is not even a celebrity.

10. Hide and Seek Robert De Niro and Dakota Fanning star as a father and daughter. This should have been a better psychological thriller.
